Brown Collegiate Scholars Program

About the Brown Collegiate Scholars Program

The Brown Collegiate Scholars Program is a free, four-year college access program that provides Providence students with the essential skills of applying to college and seeking financial aid.

In addition to providing students with a solid understanding of the college application process, the Brown Collegiate Scholars Program provides participants with academic support in reading, writing and math and training in youth development leadership skills and social-emotional learning.

As a reflection of Brown University’s approach to student-centered learning, focus is on developing student agency as a means for self-reflection, exploration and self-determination. Particular attention is focused on serving students who are the first in their families to go to college and/or who have limited financial resources.
